ENGLAND: The Premiership

The greatest football league in the world! Founded in 1992 The Premier League has since become the world's most watched sporting league and is also ranked first in the UEFA rankings of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the last five-years. A total of 42 clubs have competed in the Premier League, but only four have won the title: Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

SPAIN: La Liga

La Liga is the top professional football league in Spain. Nine clubs have been crowned Campeones de Liga. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have dominated the competition – 31 and 18 league titles respectively - however in more recent seasons the Primera División has been more competitive with a greater variety of winners including Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Deportivo de La Coruna.

BRAZIL: Campeonato Brasileiro Série A

The Brasileirao is the highest division of Brazilian football and is presently composed of 20 teams. Due to its large continental size and historical peculiarities Brazil only has a short history of national competitions -the modern Campeonato Brasileiro was only founded in 1971- therefore, unlike other football nations every state of Brazil has its own state competition and these are generally regarded as just as important as the national competitions.

ITALY: Serie A

Serie A is a professional league located at the top of the Italian football league system and is widely regarded as one of the elite leagues of the footballing world. The league has produced the highest number of European Cup finalists in history with Italian clubs reaching the final on twenty-five different occasions and winning the title eleven times. The current league format has existed since the 1929–30 season and hosts some of the world's most famous clubs including Juventus, Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma and Lazio.

GERMANY: The Bundesliga

The Bundesliga is the highest level of Germany's football league system. The Bundesliga was not formed until 1963 and the structure and organisation of the nation's football leagues have undergone frequent changes right up to the present day. Despite this surprising lack of organisation the Bundesliga does have a handful of landmark teams that often perform well in Europe, these include Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04.

ARGENTINA: Argentine Primera Division

The Primera Division is the top category of Argentine Football and is organized by the AFA (Argentine Football Association), founded in 1931, and currently featuring 20 teams. The Argentine league is regarded as one of the strongest leagues in football world. Teams from Argentina have won the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana more than any other country.

FRANCE: Ligue 1

Ligue 1 (Première division or Division 1 until 2003, now called Ligue 1 Orange) is the top division of French and Monegasque football. It has been an all-professional league since its inception in 1932 but since the end of World War II the division has switched several times between an 18 and a 20 team format, the latter being in force today. As far as the divisons top teams go PSG have the history but Olympic Lyonais are now the team to beat.

SCOTLAND: The SPL

The Scottish Premier League is a professional competition for football clubs located at the top level of the Scottish football league system. Per capita more people in Scotland watch their domestic top level league than any other nation in Europe The Scottish Premier League is currently ranked tenth in the UEFA rankings of European leagues. A total of 17 clubs have competed in the SPL since its inauguration in 1998-99 but only Celtic (six) and Rangers (four) have actually won the title.
